How we rate

Warmth

  1. Light 55°F and up Thin knit, no cushioning. For dress shoes, sneakers and warm days.
  2. All-Season 35–55°F Midweight knit or light cushioning. Everyday wear, three seasons.
  3. Cold-Weather 10–35°F Terry-lined foot or thick knit. Winter days, boots and hikes.
  4. Extreme Cold Below 10°F Terry lining from cuff to toe or our heaviest knit. Long hours in deep cold.

Softness

  1. Smooth Snug performance or compression knit. Sleek, supportive and durable.
  2. Soft Classic alpaca blend with a flat knit. Soft and itch-free.
  3. Extra Soft Baby alpaca blend or a plush terry interior.
  4. Cloud Soft Full terry, baby alpaca lounge knits or hand-knit 100% alpaca. Our softest.

Temperatures are a guide for everyday wear. Active days run warmer.

Somewhere around mile three, most socks start working against you — bunching, overheating, rubbing raw. The Spirit Stride Alpaca Ankle Sock doesn't. Mesh instep panels move air right where your foot heats up, while targeted cushioning at the heel, arch, and toe softens every landing without adding bulk. A wide comfort cuff keeps things locked in place, and the seamless toe means zero friction, zero blisters. Alpaca fibers handle the temperature swings on their own — cool when you're pushing hard, warm when you slow down — and naturally resist odor so you can log back-to-back runs without a wash in between. Built for runners. Good for everyone else, too.

spirit stride socks

"Of all your socks, these have to be the best. Enough elastic/wide enough band to keep the socks on your feet even without shoes on AND their comfortable like the rest of the Warrior socks I've tried. Put some non-skid on these puppies and they would be "perfect.""
