Fishin’ frigid waters

"Written by wife. These are wonderfully soft and warm. We’re using them for sockeye fishing in various frigid Alaskan rivers. These kept my toes warmer than doubling up wool socks, and I had more room to wiggle my toes in the wading boots. Five stars for fishing in the Russian River in June. Hubby tried his when fishing the Kasilof. I told him he’d be surprised how warm they were. We both had a bit of bite to our toes. The Kasilof is usually less cold. It could be the much longer trudge to fish the Russian which boosts circulation, or the difference of a couple inches lower water (shins) on the Russian vs our spot on Kasilof (knees) or day vs night fishing (warmer body equals warmer toes?) We’ll see how the toes are on the Kenai in a week or so. Hubby did love his crew length socks, and THESE kept his toes warm—5 stars. I wear my ski socks with an inner pair of thin wool socks for night fishing on the Kasilof. I do recommend them for warmth and softness for standing in truly frigid waters. If your feet aren’t in ice cold water, you’re a step ahead. Washed/dried with warm settings just fine."

Very warm, but they pill more than my smartwool socks

"I love the colors and they are super soft and warm. But after just two washes they are starting to pill, which doesnt seem to happen with my smartwool socks. I will still buy more of the thinner Warrior brand socks which don’t seem to pill but probably not these thick type."

Are these thicker or thinner than the hunting socks?: HI! These are constructed for skiing and snowboarding boots, with areas of padding. The hunting socks have cushion throughout the foot area. They are two totally different types of socks. We showcase the padding in our images - I would scroll through them for a better understanding of each. Hope this helps. - The Warrior Team

Hi. Just wondering if your ski and snowboard socks will fit large calves (18 diameter). I have a big foot so I would be ordering extra large. Also are these thick socks, normal thickness or thin socks. Thanks for your help!: Hi! Yes, these snowboard and ski socks should fit your calf without any issues, however if you don’t like them you can return them without any problems. We do take back gently worn socks - just to rest your fears. Additionally, if you take a look at the images you will see where there are cushioned areas and where there are not. We cushion the needed areas including the foot and the shin, and the balance is a regular sock weight. Hope this helps you make the decision that fits your needs best!
