"This is the second pair of alpaca socks I’ve bought. These boot socks fit perfectly and go over my knee. I wore them ice fishing and my feet stayed warm. The color is beautiful, and they are so soft and cozy. My only issue is the fact that they started pilling the first time I wore them. It’s not a huge deal, but the pilling started before I’d even washed them. I’m going to wash them on delicate and be careful with them and hopefully it won’t get too bad. If it weren’t for that, I’d have given them five stars for sure!"

Where are the socks made and where is the wool from?
Thanks for your inquiry! We make our items in both the USA and Peru, style dependant. We use alpaca fiber from both places as well! Since we became alpaca owners and breeders here in the USA way back in 1997 we want to promote US farms and alpaca husbandry in North America as well as the epicenter of production which is Peru. I just received my order recently, after using the socks at the end of the day i noticed fibers pulling out of the sock and a few small clumps of the fiber in my boots is this normal ?
Thanks for your inquiry, I am so glad you asked! Yes, it is completely normal. Because the socks are so soft, the first few wearings may proved some “dust bunnies” or little clumps of fibers. This is because of the amount of spin put into the yarn. A very tight spin makes a hard yarn, a loose spin makes a softer yarn, so fibers will gather in the sock or show on it. These socks are purpose driven and not “dress” socks. This will dissipate after a few wearings and a wash or too. Additionally this is another reason we recommend laying socks flat to dry.
