High Performance Knee High Athletic Alpaca Socks-Not so high preformance
These Alpaca socks are certainly soft, but did not seem to keep the important parts, toes and feet, as warm as what I currently have. It mentions lightweight back & side leg panels, which I was assuming would be a thinner, cooler blend in the lower leg, since I don't need the insulation at my shins or calves, however, while my lower leg was sweating, my toes and feet still got cold in single digit Colorado winter. This seems to be the issue with most winter socks, and it is too bad manufactures don't wise up to the fact that it is the extremities that need the extra warmth, and not the shins, as the thickness of most are throughout. These socks also do not seem to have anatomical structure, and tend to shift about while wearing. So, still looking for a ski/snowboard sock that puts the insulating warmth where it is needed, in the toes, and tappers the blend to the lower leg. - Thank you for your review. Please note that alpaca socks are only as breathable as the shoes/boots you wear with them. Rubber or non breathable materials will hold in body moisture, cause sweating and chill feet. It helps too if socks extend out of the boots or shoes to enable better wicking. We hope that you will continue to try alpaca socks to find the ones that best fit your needs.
