Temperatures are a guide for everyday wear. Active days run warmer.

Between recess, gym class, and the walk home, your kid's feet go through a lot in one day, and their socks should keep up. The Kids Recess Ready Alpaca Socks are made with a soft, breathable alpaca blend that regulates temperature, so they work just as well on a chilly morning as on a warm afternoon and adapt to kids' changing body temperature. We call them thermo-regulating; you and your kiddos will call them amazing!

Reinforced heel and toe construction stands up to active play, while natural moisture-wicking keeps feet dry and odor-free long after school lets out. Hypoallergenic and free of wool and lanolin, they're gentle even on the most sensitive skin. One pair, every activity, no complaints at pickup.

Seasonal and fun colors are here! Mix and match, or pair with any of our kids' socks to make a unique set.

Why alpaca

Alpaca vs. Merino Wool vs. Cotton

How alpaca fiber stacks up against the two most common sock materials, rated honestly.

This sock: All-Season warmth, Soft softness

Comparison of alpaca, merino wool and cotton sock fibers
Feature Warrior Alpaca Merino Wool Cotton
Warmth Best Hollow fibers trap heat, warmer than wool without the bulk Good Warm, but needs more bulk for the same heat Poor Little insulation, and none once it gets wet
Moisture-wicking Best Pulls sweat away and dries fast Good Wicks well, dries more slowly Poor Absorbs sweat and stays wet
Odor resistance Best Naturally antimicrobial, stays fresh in boots Good Resists odor well Poor Traps odor after a day of wear
Itch-free softness Best Smooth fiber scales, no prickle Good Soft, though some feel a prickle Good Soft and itch-free
Sensitive skin Best Lanolin-free and hypoallergenic Fair Contains lanolin, which can irritate Good Gentle on most skin
Durability Best Strong fiber that holds its shape Good Durable, prone to felting if overheated Fair Wears thin and stretches out

Not what I was looking for.

"Socks are nice, but not what I thought I was getting. I made the mistake and stopped scrolling when I read "100% Alpaca wool" but if I would have scrolled further, I would have seen that alpaca wool only makes up 48%. So not the 100% alpaca wool I was looking for. The socks are nice but we were trying to get away from synthetic products. 4 stars since this was my mistake but also deducting a start for clever marketing by the company and I wonder how many others stop when seeing that and don't realize the actually materials."

Perfect for my 7 year old Grandson

"My Grandson got a pair of alpaca socks and a little alpaca figure last year for Christmas and this year he asked (yes! ASKED) for more socks. Who does that? He won't wear any other socks and these are some of his favorites. He wears them day after day after day and his parents have to sneak them into the wash. Now - that's a 5-star review! YES, he and I both would recommend these!"

Pleased as punch!

"Bought 6 pairs of socks for my 4 yr old daughter. Took one pair and threw it in the washer on warm, and then the dryer to see what would happen. Hated to lose some of the fabulous lofty softness, but wanted to see how careful I needed to be with the socks firsthand. Shrinkage was minor, she was the small size of the sock, so if anything, this one pair fits closer to her size now. Lint trap was extra soft, so even though I won’t cry buckets over shrinking new fabulous socks if a stray one gets caught up in a pair of pants, I am using a cotton mesh bag for her to collect her dirty socks in her room so I can wash them with other fluffy woolens and hang dry."
